Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
On arrival at Kigali Airport in Rwanda, you will be received by our representative, who will take you through the highlights of this 5-day Uganda and Rwanda gorilla tour whilst perusing the amazing Kigali City, during which you will visit the Genocide Memorial Site where more than one million people lost their lives during the genocide of the mid 1990s in Rwanda. Later on in the evening, you will transfer to Volcanoes National Park to the north of Rwanda. Upon reaching, in just a 2-3-hour drive, you will check in at your Hotel.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
Wake up in the morning and drive to the park headquarters. At 7:30 am on arrival, you will assemble for a briefing about the gorilla trekking dos, don’ts, and other helpful information during trekking. Then, with your trekking gear and drinking water, you will be transferred to the point at which the gorilla trail into the forest begins. It can take between 1 and 2 hours to finally meet and encounter the gorillas. You will be free to take photographs and remain in their presence for a maximum of an hour. Return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch. Dedicate your evening to a nature walk or visiting the Ib’iwachu Cultural Village for Rwanda’s cultural heritage and practices.

Day 3: Visit Lake Burera and Ruhondo on your way to Bwindi NPark
After breakfast, check out and head out to visit the twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo before beginning your journey to Uganda for the gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Forest. In about 1 hour, we reach Kisoro town, home of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest; check in for Overnight and Dinner at your preferred lodge or hotel.
Day 4: Bwindi Gorilla Trekking And Transfer Back to Kigali
After breakfast, drive to the Bwindi Forest Park Headquarters in Uganda for another day of gorilla trekking briefing about what to do and not do while on a Gorilla trek. After the briefing, you will set out for the trek through thick vegetation. Trekking gorillas in Bwindi, Uganda is quite challenging as it involves moving over the rugged terrain of steep slopes and valleys. The jungle is very lively with rich forest sounds. The trek ranges between 2-5 hours, with one hour to stay with the Gorillas once sighted.
In the afternoon, you can opt for a community walk among the Batwa people who used to live in the Bwindi forest before it was gazetted as a National Park to learn about their life and culture as a forest people, and return to the Lodge.

Day 5: Cross back to Rwanda, Gisozi Genocide Memorial and departure
In the morning, enjoy your breakfast, then set off from Bwindi, crossing over to Rwanda through the Kyanika/Katuna border. On reaching Kigali at around midday, you will be driven to pay a visit to the Gisozi Genocide Memorial Museum before transferring to the Airport for your outbound departure flight.
