This 7-Day Rwanda Wildlife and Gorillas. Wildlife and Culture Safari to Rwanda will take you to Akagera National Park for an exciting wildlife viewing safari, game drives to encounter the Big 5 found in the savannah grassland of Akagera National Park, and later connect to Parc National des Volcans (Volcanoes National Park) for another unforgettable experience of Rwanda Wildlife and Gorillas. Bird lovers will also have a special treat here because both parks are rich in diversity of bird species, some of which are rare/endangered.

You will be picked up by our Safari guide at Kigali International Airport and transferred to your hotel. Short briefing about the tour as you prepare for your next day of the trip.

Our Safari guide will pick you up from the Hotel in the morning after breakfast and embark on a 2-hour drive to Akagera National Park that borders Tanzania. There are beautiful sceneries you shall be exposed to along the way. Upon arrival, check in at your reserved lodge, have lunch, and in the Afternoon go for one of Africa’s most wonderful game drives in Akagera National Park. Return to the Hotel.

In the morning, have a cup of tea/coffee and proceed for a morning game drive to catch up with early risers and predators returning to their hideouts. The game drive will reward you with chances to see a variety of elephants, buffalo, lions, Maasai giraffe, gazelles, impala, baboons, oribi, Butchel’s zebra, topi, leopard, and bushbuck, among others. Return to the Lodge for lunch,

In the evening, go for a sunset boat ride on Lake Ihema. While on the boat ride, expect to see hippos, huge Nile crocodiles, and a rich bird life of about 525 bird species, and the elephant thereafter return to the hotel.

After having your breakfast in the morning, drive back to Kigali and visit the Genocide Memorial. Lunch in Kigali, proceed to the Volcanoes National Park through the beautiful terraced hillsides of Rwanda to the Northern province, where Volcanoes national park a home to endangered mountain Gorillas.

After breakfast, head out to the park office for a briefing about Gorilla trekking in Rwanda at the Kinigi park Station, then drive to the slopes of the Forest. Gorilla trekking is no longer quite strenuous; we send an advance team so you can move directly to the spot where the advance team has located the gorilla family. Maximum permitted time with the Gorillas is 1 hour; return to the lodge for lunch. Later, you may visit Iby’iwacu cultural village, Village Walk and/or drive to enjoy the twin lake view of Burera and Ruhondo.

After breakfast at the hotel, drive to the park office for your golden monkey trekking; the trek varies from 2 to 3 hours two-way. You will spend an hour taking photos and receiving explanations from the guide and then move down and be driven back to your hotel for lunch. After lunch, transfer back to Kigali.

After breakfast, head out for a Kigali city Sightseeing tour. During this tour, you will visit different shopping malls, curio shops, handicraft and art centers, and the Kigali Genocide Memorial Center, have lunch, and then transfer to the airport or to your hotel.
