DETAILED TOUR ITINERARY

Day 1: Arrival – Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park, Nyungwe Canopy Walk

Our driver-guide will pick you up at the airport on arrival or at your hotel of stay in Kigali to begin your 3 Days Rwanda Chimpanzee Trekking safari with a scenic drive to transfer you to Nyungwe Forest, reaching there after 4-5 hours of the journey. The journey will lead you to beautiful stopovers in Rwanda’s cultural heritage sites such as the Royal Palace in Mwanza and a stopover at the ethnographic museum along the way. Lunch will also be enjoyed en route. On arrival in Nyungwe Forest Park

Day 2: Nyungwe  Forest Chimpanzee Trekking & Canopy Walk

After breakfast in the wee hours of the day, you will pack your lunchbox and transfer to the park headquarters to attend a chimpanzee trekking briefing before starting the primates walk, which introduces you to the chimpanzees by simply following their hooting sounds. On seeing them, you will spend one hour with the chimps as you take photos for your tour memories as well as capturing video clips.

After the trek, you will have lunch and retire for a rest from the trek at the lodge before a late afternoon canopy walk experience which offers you a clear view of trees, primates, birds, butterflies and the tea estates in Rwanda’s thousand hills. You will learn the major characteristics of a rainforest and why the canopy is an integral part of the tropical rainforest ecosystem. You will then get back to the lodge for dinner and overnight at your lodge, summing up your second day of the Rwanda chimpanzee trekking safari.

Day 3: Nyungwe  Forest Departure to Kigali

After breakfast in the morning, your last day will be a 5-hour drive to Kigali with lunch en-route. On reaching Kigali, you will set out to visit remarkable tourist sites such as the Rwanda genocide and cultural sites and a comprehensive tour of the cleanest city in Africa, Kigali City, before eventually reaching the airport for your outbound flight departure or a drop-off at your hotel or residence in Kigali.  That will be the end of your 3-day Rwanda chimpanzee trekking safari.
