Our 8 Days Gorilla Trekking Rwanda Wildlife Safari will take you on to adventure through the protected conservation areas of Rwanda. You will visit the Volcanoes National Park, Nyungwe Forest National Park, and Akagera National Park, each of the parks has got unique species from the other, we will have the chance of viewing the mountain gorillas and golden monkeys of the Volcanoes National Park. Akagera National Park is the only place of the country where one can see other animal species  including the so-called big five of the wilderness. Expect to see lions, zebras, giraffes, and the chimpanzee of the Nyungwe Forest National Park.

Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival – Transfer to Akagera National Park

Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by an Albertine Tours safari guide who will transfer you to Akagera National Park. The Journey takes approximately 2 hours to arrive at the destination. On arrival at the park you check in at the lodge, have lunch and an afternoon game drive. The first day is always as interesting with all the excitement expect to meet zebras, antelopes of different species, leopards to mention a few. You will return to the lodge for dinner and staying overnight at

Day 2: Game Drive – Boat Cruise along Lake Ihema

Morning breakfast after we head out in search of game, the morning time is mostly busy as most of the wildlife species do come to graze and predators to hunt, through the well-distributed game tracks and open roof safari car you will be able to see impala, leopards, lions, rhinos, giraffes, elephants, you will not miss the many birds of the park returning to the lodge for a hot lunch and an afternoon boat cruise along the Lake Ihema, expect to see most of the water animals like hippos, Nile crocodiles along the marshy areas you will have the chance to see the rare shoe bill on a lucky day, we will return to the lodge for dinner and staying overnight at

Day 3: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

We will have breakfast after transfer to the home of Mountain gorillas volcanoes national park, which was made famous by the great works of the American primatologist Dian Fossey during the acting of the movie gorillas in the mist, we will move  towards the north of Rwanda, the scenic drive to the park will have you to enjoy the vast topographic landscape of the ecosystem, the drive is about 4hours, arriving in time for a hot lunch and afternoon relaxation, one can choose to take part in the guided nature walk around the lodge premises, dinner and stay overnight at

Day 4: Gorilla Trekking Experience

We will have an early morning breakfast after which transfer to the park headquarters for  briefing about the mountain gorilla, and experience the gorillas divided into groups of eight per gorilla family, this time round we will follow a different gorilla group, gorillas keep moving from one place to another, the solemnly feed in one point giving room for the plants to grow, these nest on the ground and baby gorillas live in the same nest as parents, meeting the primates is very heart melting as they jump up and down of trees while they enjoy the jungle dinner and staying overnight at

Day 5: Transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park

Nyungwe forest national park, is an angelic destination and a beautiful ride to the ecosystem, passing through the rolling hills with the backdrop of the mountains, we will have time to stop by the Nyanza kings palace for viewing the old royal kingdom of the Rwandan king, enroute we will take a tour at the museum for historical findings of the people of Rwanda and it takes 6 hours drive to the national park arriving in time for dinner and stay overnight at the lodge that has been booked, enjoy evening small walks around the lodge

Day 6: Chimpanzee Tracking – Canopy Walk

Early morning breakfast and we transfer to the park headquarters Umwika visitor center for a briefing from the park rangers, in  groups, we will hike through the park in search of primates, it takes 2-3 hours to do the activity an hour is allowed while with the chimpanzees, along the walk look out through the trees for you will see other primates of the park, for example, Black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys, red-tailed monkeys to mention a few, we will return to the lodge for lunch and an afternoon canopy walk along the long suspended bridge in the park, it is a beautiful way of viewing the park from the skies, returning for dinner and stay overnight at

Day 7: Black and white Colobus Monkeys and Relaxation

On this day we will wake up to a morning breakfast after which we return to the park headquarters for a briefing in groups and return to the forested area in search of the black and white colobus monkeys imagine meeting a troop of over 50 creatures all tucked in black and white, through the angelic trees, the rangers will help you through the walk, returning for lunch and an afternoon visit to the Isumo waterfall, this is one of the most  beautiful experiences of the park, it is amazing by how much you can see while in here including birds returning to the lodge for dinner and staying overnight at

Day 8: Departure

You will take an early morning breakfast, checkout of the lodge, and transfer to Kigali for your international flight back home.
