Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival / Pickup in Kigali – to Volcanoes National Park, Community Walk
Our driver guide will pick you up upon arrival at the Airport to start your 2 Days golden monkey tracking in Rwanda with a comprehensive briefing of the tour highlights before a 3-4 hours journey to reach Musanze where the park headquarters of Volcanoes National park. Upon your arrival, you will check into your lodge for your 2 days accommodation, get served with the delicious lunch meal and after set out to tour the twin lakes of Burera and Ruhondo. Later in the evening you will go to Iby’iwacu cultural village for a community tour. The end ends with your dinner and overnight at the lodge we booked for on arrival.
Day 2: Golden Monkey Tracking – Transfer to Kigali
After your breakfast on your second day of this trip, you will get transferred to the Park headquarters where you meet fellow golden monkey trackers for a briefing that will enlighten you on the adventurous activity of Golden monkey tracking. You will start the trek to search for these golden creatures after which you spend a full hour with them taking photos, learning their behaviors, and enjoying to see them play with each other. After the trek, you will head-on to the lodge to have lunch and then transfer back to Kigali city with a chance to do a Kigali city tour exploring the cultural heritage sites and iconic memorial centers like the Kigali Genocide memorial center, the Kimironko fruit market, Nyamirambo women’s center, among others. You will also visit the craft market centers to purchase local souvenirs that you may need.
