Itinerary
DAY 1: Arrival – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Upon your arrival, you will be welcomed by Albertine tours representative and brief you about your 2 days exploring Rwanda and participating in one of the gorilla conservation projects based around the volcanoes national park. Then start off you journey by doing Kigali city tour, visiting Nyamirambo women’s center, Kimironko local market and the Gisozi genocide memorial centre. Have lunch in Kigali, thereafter transfer to Volcanoes National Park . Enjoy the scenic journey drive giving you amazing views Rwanda’s hills and valleys leading to different communities and villages in Rwanda with stopovers at Nyirangarama trading centre where you can do local shopping and refreshment. Overnight at your preferred hotel in Musanze.
DAY 2: Gorilla Trekking Experience
Early morning breakfast, and transferred to the park headquarters in Kinigi for your gorilla trekking practices which including gorilla family allocation and briefing, then embark on your drive to your assigned gorilla family start point. Start your hike in search for the gorillas and once found spend 1 hour with them (gorilla’s family) taking photos and listening to the guide’s explanation about the habitant, characters and their day activities in their home range. Thereafter, return to the parking and be transferred back to your accommodation for lunch and relax a bit, then set off to visit the Iby’iwacu cultural village for an evening cultural village walk and traditional performances. Retire and transfer to Gisenyi to enjoy an over stay right close to the lake Kive, check and evening at leisure.
DAY 3: Gisenyi City Tour, Boat Trip on Lake Kivu
Depending on your scheduled flight time, enjoy your breakfast at the hotel then set off for Gisenyi city tour heading to Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda border post. Thereafter, driver will drop you to the shore of the lake kivu to catch up with your boat to enjoy your boat trip to explore the beauty of lake Kive by visiting island and the hot spring that are found in the lake. Do not miss to experience the lake Kive hot spring just because believed that cures different skin disease of a human body.
