Detailed Itinerary.
Day 1: Arrival at Kigali International Airport.
Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by an Albertine Tours representative who will transfer you to the accommodation that has been booked in Kigali. Depending on your arrival time, you will begin the safari with a Kigali City Tour. Visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial, a place built in remembrance of the lives lost during the 1994 Rwanda genocide.

Day 2: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Morning breakfast, then drive to Volcanoes National Park, passing through the beautiful rolling landscape of the northeastern part of Rwanda and tea plantations, arriving in a two-hour ride; check in at the lodge. Have lunch and experience culture at the Iby’iwacu community. The queenly and kingly treatment in this village is amazing. They will showcase their traditional songs and drumming as they keep you entertained all evening.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking.
Following breakfast, you will transfer to the park headquarters at Karisoke to begin the gorilla experience. Trekking is done in groups of eight per gorilla family. It is a tedious thing to do but rewarding at the end of the day. Tracking takes 2 or more hours depending on how far the gorillas have moved. There are habituated gorilla families that are present, so meeting them is an amazing experience.
