Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali
An Albertine Tours company representative will greet you upon your arrival. You will then be transferred to the lodge, check in, and have a chance to refresh. Later, you will embark on an afternoon Kigali city tour, which will include visiting the Kigali Genocide Memorial, exploring the local market, hiking Mount Kigali which is not technically a mountain but offers stunning views of the city and enjoying sundowners. Day 2: Transfer to Akagera National Park
You will be taken to Akagera National Park for wildlife experiences after breakfast. It is suggested that you drive to the park in time for lunch so you may enjoy the various delicacies that have been prepared. This is especially true if you prefer sampling local cuisine. You’ll take a boat ride around Lake Ihema later. A wide variety of bird species as well as animals that feed along the riverbanks could be expected.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive – Transfer to Volcanoes National Park
Have breakfast and transfer to the park for a morning game drive. Akagera is the only place in Rwanda to enjoy big game. Expect to see zebras, antelopes, water bucks, bushbucks, elephants, buffaloes, warthogs and many birds species. The well distributed game routes in the conservation area will give you an insight of the park. Return to have lunch and transfer to Volcanoes National Park in Eastern Rwanda. The area is a known home to the critically endangered species of the mountain gorillas and golden monkeys, volcanoes covers five of the great hills of the virunga volcanic massif. Day 4: Gorilla Trekking Experience.
After your breakfast our guide will transfer you to the park headquarters for briefing from the park rangers as our representative helps you to register. Trekking gorillas is done in groups of eight. The hike through the terrine is a steep hill so it’s advisable to consider physical fitness. Finding the gorillas depends on how far they have moved it can take 2 hours or even the whole day. One hour is allowed to be with the gorillas once you find them as you watch the young stars roll around like as though they are ready for their visitors. Day 5: Golden Monkey Tracking
After breakfast, you will assemble at the Karisoke Park Headquarters for golden monkey tracking. Just like the gorillas in a group you will head into the forest in search of the golden brown primates. These are endemic to the virunga region, and they live in the bamboo forest region and enjoy feeding on the young sprout of bamboo. They are pretty fast so if you may take pictures. It is wise to set your camera ready to capture the moment. Return for lunch and transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park home to chimpanzees. Arrive for check-in and stay overnight at

Day 6: Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe.
Morning breakfast and transfer to the park center early in the morning. The forest hosts many troops of monkeys, notably is the Chimpanzee. They are habituated for client visits. Chimpanzees are intelligent social species sharing up to 98% of the human DNA. It takes 2-3 hours tracking chimpanzees and an hour is allowed while with the primates. Chimpanzees make loud charter sounds which you will hear even before meeting them. En-route it is possible to meet more primate like the black and white colobus monkey, blue monkeys to mention. Day 7: Transfer to Kigali for Departure.
Morning tea or coffee after which you will return to the city to catch our international flight back home.
