Day 1: Arrival at Kigali International Airport
You will be picked up by our safari guide at Kigali International Airport and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, you will have a short briefing about the tour and prepare for the next day’s adventure.

Day 2: Transfer to Akagera, Afternoon Game Drive
After breakfast, our safari guide will pick you up from your hotel and begin the approximately 2-hour drive to Akagera National Park, which lies along Rwanda’s eastern border with Tanzania.
Enjoy beautiful countryside views along the way. Upon arrival, check in at your lodge and have lunch before heading out for an afternoon game drive in Akagera National Park.
The game drive offers opportunities to see wildlife including elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, and other savannah species.

Day 3: Morning Game Drive in Akagera
After an early breakfast, head out for a morning game drive to see wildlife when animals are most active.
You may encounter elephants, buffaloes, lions, Maasai giraffes, gazelles, impalas, baboons, oribis, zebras, topi, leopards, and bushbucks, among other species.
After lunch, enjoy a sunset boat ride on Lake Ihema. Look out for hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, and a variety of bird species before returning to your lodge.

Day 4: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park via Kigali
After breakfast, drive back to Kigali and visit the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Enjoy lunch in Kigali before continuing to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda’s Northern Province.
The journey takes you through Rwanda’s beautiful terraced hillsides before arriving near the home of the endangered mountain gorillas.

Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, head to the Kinigi Park Station for a briefing about gorilla trekking in Rwanda. You will then drive to the forest slopes to begin your trek in search of a habituated gorilla family.
The trek can vary in duration depending on the location of the gorillas. Once you find the gorilla family, you will have a maximum of one hour to observe and photograph them while following the ranger’s guidelines.
Return to your lodge for lunch. Later, you may visit Iby’iwacu Cultural Village, enjoy a village walk, or visit the beautiful Twin Lakes of Burera and Ruhondo.

Day 6: Golden Monkey Trekking in Volcanoes National Park
After breakfast, drive to the park office for your golden monkey trekking experience.
The trek usually takes around 2–3 hours, depending on the location of the golden monkeys. You will have time to observe and photograph these playful primates before returning to your hotel for lunch.
After lunch, transfer back to Kigali.

Day 7: Kigali City Sightseeing Tour
