The 4 Days Gorilla Trek & Lake Bunyonyi Tour fulfills your dream safari to see Gorillas of Bwindi and have time to relax at Lake Bunyonyi after the trip. You will spend 2 days in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park located in southwestern Uganda and home to half of the endangered mountain gorillas (approximately 400 individuals) in the whole world. Depending on the availability of gorilla permits at the time of confirmation, you will trek gorillas in Buhoma, Ruhija, Rushaga or Nkuringo. After the hectic trekking in the mountain rainforest, you will drive to Lake Bunyonyi to relax and take in the whole experience of Gorilla tracking and you have time for recreational activities around the Lake Lodge like watching water and sky birds, boat cruise on the lake, chilling a the lake shores.

Depart EntebbeKampala for your 8-9 road transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park located in South western Uganda. Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is home to half the number of mountain gorillas in the whole world and is the only place where chimpanzees co-exist with Mountain Gorillas. You will have an en route stopover at the Equator crossing for photographic and simple experiment before continuing to Mbarara town for Lunch. After lunch, you will embark on your scenic drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Overnight at Buhoma Lodge or Mahogany Springs Lodge.

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to the Park headquarters for registration and joining others for a gorilla trekking briefing about the dos and the don’ts during your Gorilla Trek. Once this is done, you will trek through thick creepers and undergrowth with your guides to find the Gorillas, which can take you from half an hour to three quarters of the day. The steeply forested landscape is incredibly dense but crisscrossed by numerous animal trails allowing access to tourists. On your trek, you are likely to spot other primates, birds and rare tree species. After finding the gorillas, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them before trekking back to the Park headquarter. This is indeed an extraordinary feeling being with these beautiful yet endangered Creatures. You will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and thus contributing to the conservation of mountain gorillas. Overnight at Buhoma Lodge or Mahogany Springs Lodge.

Drive from Bwindi Impenetrable National Park to Lake Bunyonyi in Kabale District. Lake Bunyonyi is one of the three Lava damned Lake which was formed when lava flowing from one of the volcanoes blocked a river channel and water was forced to flow back hence filling the space to create lake Bunyonyi. Bunyonyi locally means small birds due to the abundance of small birds in this area. Lake Bunyonyi is said to be the deepest lake in Uganda and second deepest in East Africa. A person visit Lake Bunyonyi for its beauty and is one of the best place to relax after your gorilla trek. There are optional activities around the lake that you can do including canoe rides and walks.

After your breakfast, you will be driven to Kampala or Entebbe for your post tour accommodation or you may choose to fly out of Uganda today. You will use the same route enabling you to have a second stop over at the Equator.
