1 Day Rwanda Gorilla Tour Itinerary
Early Morning Transfer From Kigali to Ruhengeri
Since it is a just one-day tour, our tour starts as early as 4:30 am in the morning. A driver and tour guide from Albertine will pick you up from your Hotel after having breakfast or with a packed on-the-go breakfast. Then embark on a 2-3 hours journey to the park headquarters in Ruhengeri for the pre-gorilla trekking briefing.
After getting the quick tips, and the guidelines for tracking the gorillas, you’ll be divided into groups of (8 persons) and be assigned to a specific gorilla family to visit (Please Note: Only 8 people can trek a specific gorilla group, there are 10 gorilla groups in the park). Throughout the search and hike in the forest, you will be led by a ranger guide until you find the long-awaited mountain giants. Remember that depending on their movements, the hours of searching for them will completely differ since they (the gorillas) don’t keep in one place.
Once you locate the gorillas, you will have 1 hour to spend with them. Taking pictures of these amazing mountain creatures, learning their behaviours, how they feed, play, etc… while following guidelines as briefed about. (Remember: NO CAMERA FLASHLIGHTS are not allowed since they distort them and react fiercely toward you).
This activity is the most unforgettable experience of a lifetime. After the trek, you may decide to relax at any preferred lodge or visit the local projects, go on walks in villages surrounding the park, and interact with local people then drive back to Kigali where you will arrive in the evening. The driver guide will transfer you to your hotel and to the airport in case of an impending flight.
